An important question that comes into the minds of many is why get professional certification. What good is it? Professional certification enables your clients, employers and associates to know how committed a professional you are. It is a mark of excellence that comes with you wherever you go in pursuit of jobs in your career. With top certifications like the Cisco certifications in hand you have an edge when it comes to competing in promotions and jobs.

Professional certification is useful especially for those who are pursuing a career in Information technology. This is an industry where there is continuous growth as emerging technologies and applications make it essential for professionals to develop their skills. The need for continuing education becomes mandatory to become highly proficient and acquire improved skills. Microsoft certification ensures promotions and higher salaries for IT professionals.

Professionals intending to get professional certification in information technology are required to sit for certification exams. Microsoft and CISCO offer professional certification programs to IT professionals who take their exams and complete it successfully. It is essential that candidates who plan to appear for professional certification exams make proper preparation for the tests. An intensive training and preparation is required to be successful to obtain these certifications.

Normally there are three types of certification. These are generally classified and are listed in order of the level of development. Internal or Corporate certifications are created by an association or a small organization for purposes within its boundaries. For instance, an organization which has organized a single day training program for its staff might need to give a certificate. There are certifications which are Product- Centric. These are more top certifications and have universal application. The information technology industry uses this effectively and efficiently by issuing certificates to the trainees using the latest Software that’s available.

However, the type of certification that is most common is profession-based. As the touch of professionalism becomes a necessity the level of practices is increased and protects the public, possibly. A certification can be established by a profession. As can be seen in the Aviation industry or other certifications like Microsoft certifications or Cisco certifications. These are all top certifications and carry a lot of value anywhere in the world. These types of certifications are generally portable in nature. Of course this general nature of it increases the cost of the program as the process to prepare a legally eligible assessment of the whole profession is wide and extensive.

You may have often heard of people holding a Cisco certification or a Microsoft certification and wondered what that means? Any Professional certification is a certification or qualification that a person earns to perform a certain job.

Such Certifications are usually received from Professional Institutions and are usually required to be renewed from time to time. The renewal process of a person’s certification includes the proof of continued learning, which is otherwise known as Continuing Education or Continuing Education Units. An important point to be noted here is that these certifications are not issued by any government but from a professional association.

For example, a computer training course you attended requires a certificate at the completion of it and this is received from that Computer Center and not the government. Nowadays online certifications are in and make the process easy for people. Sometimes an ability or knowledge is to be proved by law before being given permission to perform a particular task, this process is called licensure. Some Certification programs take into consideration various other factors rather than just the marks or performance in an examination. As if otherwise the certification process might become a contentious issue. For instance a Criminal record while applying for certification is a solid ground for rejection of certification.

A medical college or medical university is an educational institution that is tertiary. In most of the European countries, China and India, medical study is finished as a degree in the undergraduate level that does not require any pre-determined coursework. However, a majority of places are shifting medical study to the graduate level like in the United States. In the US and Canada, medical degrees are offered only at the post graduate level usually requiring more than 7 years of medical study in the undergraduate level. Often, students who join medical colleges complete a bachelors degree with a curriculum that is somewhat based on medicine. However, medical colleges do accept students who finish a variety of courses not necessarily based on medicine as long as the required conditions and prerequisites are met.

In the US
The Association of American Medical Colleges is the apex medical study body for colleges and universities that have a list of many accredited schools that offer medicine as a course. If a person wants to get admitted into a medical college in the U.S, they have to complete either the GMAT or the MCAT. There are no minimum scores to get in these tests though.

In the UK
Currently there are 32 medical colleges and universities in the U.K that offer medical study. Each college has their own admission criteria but everyone insists on good High school marks and decent performances in standardized tests such as the UKCAT.

Medicine is both an art and science and refers to the process of healing. It includes a broad range of practices that bring about the mental and physical well-being of an individual by prevention and treatment of a disease in the body. From time immemorial, medicine has grown and evolved in a variety of ways!

Medical Colleges and Universities offer Medical study to young students who want to pursue a career in Medicine. These students typically have to follow entry level medical requirements to get into any medical college or medical university. This is followed by a practice in a hospital or nursing home and is completed after the student receives his medical degree. However, sometimes students may not join to practice as they may wish to do work in the research side of medicine. These students may sometimes get degrees different from the others. However, the field of medicine is growing at a rapid rate and thus many regulatory authorities want students to continue studying new aspects of medicine to stay in touch.

Apart from these traditional branches there are many new branches like Electronics and communication, Mechatronics, Biotechnology, Instrumentation, Information Technology and many more. Engineering has both under graduate and graduate courses in many streams. A person is termed as a Professional Engineer once he completes an engineering course in one of the many Engineering University. Such Universities generally have a number of Engineering Colleges affiliated to them. There are a number of engineering colleges all over the world and especially in US and UK. The top Engineering Universities in US are

Massachusetts Institute Of Technology

Stanford University

California Institute Of Technology

University Of Michigan

Generally a university offers most of these engineering courses. The duration of an undergraduate (UG) course is 4 years and that of a graduate course is 2 years. There are many tests to take up to enroll in an engineering course. For UG admissions a student must take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). They are of two types – Reasoning Tests (consisting of Verbal and Quantitative mathematics multiple choice questions) and Subject Tests (consisting of specific subject various choice questions). The requisites of the test vary from one engineering college to the other.

For graduate courses the students need to take up Graduate record Examination (GRE). This exam consists of a verbal section and a quantitative mathematics section. Sometimes the students have to take Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for non-native English speakers. There are authorized websites and books which provide samples of the engineering practice tests. These engineering practice tests can be booked online through the internet and taken up at any of the Educational Testing Service (ETS) authorized Engineering Practice Test centre all around the world. The whole process is simple if you are well informed of the details. On the whole an engineering degree is completed only by a well deserving candidate and such a candidate enjoys a privileged status in the society.

Thousands of study abroad programs in Australia are offered through the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. Skills developed by the VET sector lead the students to the topmost point of their career in their individual industry of specialization. Jobs are readily available to the successful passed outs of these courses across the globe You can go for a comprehensive variety of vocational courses, right from fashion designing to laboratory assistance.

The country has literally become a hub of students from all over the world in current years, with every other foreign student choosing Australia over US or UK as his/ her dream study abroad destination. The stupendous figure of 390000 students from almost 150 countries is indeed an eye opener in relationship with popularity of the study abroad programs Australia amongst foreign student community in general. And justifiably so, since Australia offers a vast variety of disciplines across levels, from short-term English language courses to award of Post-doctoral degrees – all of them acknowledged and reckoned for their better quality by the target International audience.

However, when choosing to study abroad in Australia, one must pay focus to his/ her ease with usage of English language. Australia is a place where extra importance is laid on use and know-how of English.

In order to make their overseas students comfortable with English language, Australia conducts special ‘English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students’, which is formally known as “ELICOS”. “The National English Language Teaching Accreditation Scheme” (NEAS) is responsible for maintaining the high standards of Australia’s ELICOS courses. Studies in Australia become significantly easier, once you are comfortable with English language.
